I thought that I’d start by looking at some design work we have done in the past. So over the next few post I will highlight some of the projects starting with a canopy we designed for a residential / commercial development in north London. This is it almost completed on site.
A design of this type starts with the finished panel layout, it has to meet the architects brief and be flexible so that the factory cut panels will adapt to “site condition” without modification on site.
Then the design of the support structure begins.
Not only does the structure have to connect with the outer panels at the required fixing points it has to be able to support the panels and environmental loads (wind and snow).
